How can you make a difference?
UNICEF Zimbabwe seeks to hire a passionate and dedicated Supply & Logistics Specialist for their Supply & Logistics Team. You report to the Deputy Representative-Operations (P-4 Level) for close guidance, training and supervision.
Purpose for the job:
Under the supervision of the Deputy Representative Operations, you are responsible for managing the supply chains of a small sized country office, and/or small sized emergency response operation, or elements of the supply chains of a larger supply operation. The supply chain operations include planning, procurement, contracting, customs clearance, warehousing, in country transport and distribution, as well as monitoring of supplies, services and construction works.
You support management collaboration with programmes in defining supply interventions to meet programmatic needs and achieve results for children, and provides technical and advisory support to governments, national systems and partners on supply chain management.

Collaboration with programme and implementing partners

To qualify as an advocate for every child you will have…
Minimum requirements:
Education: Master or equivalent (Advanced University Degree) is required in one of the following fields: Business Administration, Supply/Purchasing, Economics, Logistics, International Development, Health Administration, Management, Supply Chain Management, Procurement, Commercial Law, Health, Social Science and any other related fields.
Work Experience: A minimum of five (5) years of relevant work experience in Supply Management/Contracting/Logistics, Supply Chain Service Delivery, Emergency Response, Programme Collaboration, Technical Advisory Support, Innovation in Products and Markets, Procurement. and any other related fields.
Skills: Problem Solving, Leadership, Humanitarian Work, Negotiation, People Management are required for this position.
Language Requirements: Fluency in English is required.
Desirables:
Language: Knowledge of another official UN language (Arabic, Chinese, French, Russian or Spanish) or a local language is an asset.
Emergency, Health Supply Chain experience is considered as an advantage.
Relevant experience at country level, particularly in development, fragile settings and humanitarian contexts.
