Program Coordinator (x4) – WFP Urban Resilience Project

Location – Harare, Kwekwe, Chipinge and Chiredzi

Reporting to the Program Area Manager (PAM), the Program Coordinator Represents Plan International Zimbabwe at district and provincial stakeholder forums on development interventions. The Program Coordinator is also responsible for child protection risk management processes for the Urban Resilience related program.

Accountabilities:
Coordinate the implementation of the Urban Resilience Program with Government departments, and other implementing partners to synchronize activities.
Prepare monthly progress reports on Urban Resilience activities and submit to the PAM and Project Manager for review.
Provide ongoing leadership and support the Field Monitor and ensure that daily, weekly and monthly targets are met.
Mobilize and create awareness among local leaders and communities on Urban Resilience project.
Ensure that beneficiary identification, selection, registration and verification are done as per set enrolment criteria and guidelines.
Facilitate formation and training of Project Implementation Team (PIT) from the community members.
Carry out public address in implementing communities covering topics such as women participation, HIV and AIDS, safeguarding and child protection
Ensure certification of project assets by respective Ministry Department.
Network with other development stakeholders, e.g. local leaders, Government departments and other NGOs in the area to synchronize activities.
Maintains a proper, complete and accurate log book for motorbike and fuel usage in accordance with Plan policy and procedures.
Promote and abide by internal policies and procedures including but not limited to: Safeguarding Policy; Code of Conduct; mandatory reporting responsibility.
Report all incidents and concerns on child abuse (using Plan Child Protection Issue Reporting Form 1 – Initial Report).

Knowledge:
A degree in a development related discipline, e.g. rural development, Health, Nutrition, education, agriculture etc
Minimum of 2 years extensive experience in development work at grassroots level;
Experience in emergence/relief programs will be an added advantage
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
Computer literacy in Excel and Word
Ability to plan, implement and evaluate detailed operational plans
Good team motivator, team building skills and able to work under strenuous conditions
Must hold a valid class 3 or 4 licence and should express interest to use a motor cycle
