Location – Bulawayo Program Area
Reporting to the Program Area Manager with a direct working relationship with the Youth Economic Empowerment (YEE) Technical Lead, the Digital Skills Project Manager is expected to develop strategies, guidelines and tools on integrating digital skills in YEE programs in line with global and local trends.
Accountabilities:
Assessment, Program Design and Planning
The Digital Skills Project Manager will ensure that the WFP Digital Skills project is executed and that inception, implementation and exit strategies and plans are developed.
Ensure all relevant people are kept informed about progress, project plans and implementation, progress reports, and other significant developments.
Ensure that project deliverables that include but not limited to, outputs, outcomes, financial and narrative reports for the WFP Digital Skills projects are up to date
Provide technical assistance on the development of all project implementation plans and budgets within the framework of the emergency response plan and the Disaster Risk Management strategy.
Ensure that Child Protection standards are adhered to by Plan staff, partners and implementing parties.
Ensure that all Plan interventions have a clear focus on girls and young women.
Produce disaster response plans and situation analysis reports
Project Management and Implementation
Ensure successful mobilisation of Young People for digital skills with a focus on girls.
Carry out a digital skills analysis and market scan to establish training needs.
Develop digital skills curricula for established needs and inclusive of programming, (python),web design (word press),digital design (photoshop) among other demand driven digital skills
Facilitate the development of a digital training platform that can be hosted by Plan International Zimbabwe.
Ensure strategic engagement sessions with private sector actors and establish business connections for job placements and internships for the digital skills graduates.
Ensure adequate monitoring, reporting and acquittal of the WFP Digital Skills project activities in accordance with Plan’s reporting standards.
Track and regularly review project expenditure to ensure efficient and effective project implementation.
Keeps track in collaboration with MERL team on the outcomes and indicators, milestones and targets and consolidates the progress of the quarterly and annual reports.
Program Learning and Communication
Identify learning and training opportunities for staff and partners and work as a mentor to ensure that digital skills are integrated in program approaches.
Produce high quality documentation on digital skills interventions aimed at Program modelling, replication and scaling up.
Ensure that effective use is made of learning from program monitoring and evaluation DRM to strengthen Program delivery and inform wider practice in relation to Plan International Zimbabwe’s work.

Ensures that Plan International’s global policies for Safeguarding of Children & Young People and Gender Equality and Inclusion (GEI) are fully embedded in accordance with the principles and requirements of the policy including relevant Implementation Standards and Guidelines as applicable to their area of responsibility.
Knowledge:
A degree in Computer Science or related discipline
A minimum of 5 years’ experience at a similar level preferably in a private sector environment.
Understanding of the workings of private sector and opportunities that could be harnessed for digital technology
In-depth understanding 4IR and AI and linking them with development issues, employability and entrepreneurship
Knowledge of strategic planning processes development issues, trends, challenges, opportunities and implications to community development
Knowledge of the local language

Good communication, facilitation and report writing skills
Strong negotiating, strategic thinking and influencing skills
Knowledge and skills: knowledge of PLAN policies and procedures, NGO Code of Conduct. Requires general finance, administration, information management and telecommunication skills and proficiency in information technology/ computer skills.
